Gumroad

Gumroad has two ways to send events. The Ping endpoint in your settings receives sales only. Refunds, disputes, cancellations and the other subscription events go only to URLs you register through Gumroad’s API as resource subscriptions. Step 2 covers sales, Step 3 covers everything else.

Step 1: Create an Integration

1. Go to your organization’s Integrations page.
2. Click Add Integration and select Gumroad.
3. You’ll receive a unique Webhook URL. Copy it.

Step 2: Get Sales through the Ping Endpoint

1. In your Gumroad Settings, open the Advanced tab.
2. Under Ping, paste your Hookfire webhook URL into Ping endpoint.
3. Save your settings.

Gumroad posts each sale as form-encoded data. Send test ping to URL sends your most recent sale with test set to true, and Hookfire shows it as a sale.

Step 3: Get Refunds, Disputes and Subscription Events

These events need a Gumroad access token and one API call per event.

1. On the same Advanced settings page, fill in the Applications form: any name, and http://127.0.0.1 as the Redirect URI (it is not used). Click Create application.
2. Open the application and click Generate access token. Copy the token and keep it private.
3. Run one command per event you want, replacing ACCESS_TOKEN and HOOKFIRE_URL:

Each call answers with "success": true and the subscription’s id. Don’t also subscribe resource_name=sale while the Ping endpoint points at Hookfire, or every sale arrives twice.

Step 4: Subscribe to Events

On your Hookfire integration page, toggle on the events you want to receive push notifications for.

Note: Gumroad does not sign its pings. No signing secret is needed.

Step 5: Test

Use Send test ping to URL in Gumroad, or click Send test next to an event on your Hookfire integration page.

Gumroad reports price in US cents whatever your product’s currency, so sale amounts are shown in dollars.
