How to connect Recurly

Step 1: Create an Integration

Go to your organization’s Integrations page.
Click Add Integration and select Recurly.
You’ll receive a unique Webhook URL. Copy it.

Step 2: Add the Webhook in Recurly

In your Recurly Admin Console, go to Integrations → Webhooks.
Add a new endpoint and paste your Hookfire webhook URL.
Set the Payload format to JSON. Hookfire reads JSON webhooks only: XML ones are not signed, so Hookfire cannot tell them from forgeries.
Select the notifications you want to receive.
Save the endpoint.

Step 3: Copy the Secret Key

On the Webhook Endpoints page, copy the endpoint’s secret key.
Go back to your Hookfire integration page and paste it into the Signing Secret field.

Recurly signs each JSON webhook in the recurly-signature header. Hookfire refuses anything that does not match or is more than five minutes old. When you regenerate the key, Recurly signs with both keys for 24 hours, so paste the new one within that day.

Step 4: Subscribe to Events

On your Hookfire integration page, toggle on the events you want to receive push notifications for.

Recurly’s JSON webhooks are deliberately small: they say which record changed and how, but not the customer, plan or amount. Your notification names the subscription, payment or invoice, and you can look it up in Recurly.

Step 5: Test

Click Test next to an event on your Hookfire integration page, or create a subscription on a test account in Recurly.
