Hear about the outage before your users do

Monitoring tools are good at noticing that something broke. Getting that news to a person is the part that goes wrong: the alert lands in an inbox, a channel nobody watches at night, or an app that was logged out last week.

Hookfire takes the alert your monitor already sends and makes it a push notification, so the first person to hear about the outage is you, not a customer writing in to ask whether the site is down.

The events worth turning on

Monitor down

The one that should wake you. Mark it high priority and it breaks through Focus modes.

Back up

Just as useful: it tells you whether you still need to get out of bed.

Incident triggered or escalated

When a rotation exists, the escalation is the moment the first responder did not answer.

Error spike

A new error is a bug. The same error at five times its usual rate is an incident.

Integrations for this

Each of these sends the events above. Setup is the same for all of them.

Common questions

Does this replace my paging tool?
Not for a team with a rotation: there is no schedule or escalation policy here. It is for the alerts that would otherwise reach nobody, and as a second channel next to a pager.
Can I hear about recoveries too?
Yes. Down and up, triggered and recovered, are separate events, so you can take both or only the bad news.
