How to connect Help Scout

Connecting Help Scout to Hookfire

Step 1: Create an Integration

  1. Go to your organization’s Integrations page.
  2. Click Add Integration and select Help Scout.
  3. You’ll receive a unique Webhook URL — copy it.

Step 2: Add the Webhook in Help Scout

  1. Log in to your Help Scout Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Manage → Webhooks.
  3. Click Add Webhook.
  4. Paste your Hookfire webhook URL into the URL field.
  5. Enter a Secret Key — this will be used for signature verification.
  6. Select the events you want to receive:
    • Conversation Created
    • Conversation Assigned
    • Conversation Status
    • Conversation Tags Updated
    • Customer Created
    • Satisfaction Rating Received
  7. Click Save.

Step 3: Add the Signing Secret

  1. Copy the Secret Key you entered while creating the webhook.
  2. Go back to your Hookfire integration page and paste it into the Signing Secret field.
  3. Help Scout signs payloads with HMAC-SHA1 — Hookfire will verify each delivery automatically.

Step 4: Subscribe to Events

On your Hookfire integration page, toggle on the events you want to receive push notifications for.

Step 5: Test

Click the Test button on your integration page, or create a conversation in Help Scout to trigger a real event.
