How to connect Tally

Step 1: Create an Integration

  1. Go to your organization’s Integrations page.
  2. Click Add Integration and select Tally.
  3. You’ll receive a unique Webhook URL. Copy it.

Step 2: Add the Webhook in Tally

  1. Publish your form, then open its Integrations tab.
  2. Click Connect next to Webhooks.
  3. Paste your Hookfire webhook URL as the Endpoint URL.
  4. Enter a long random string as the Signing secret, for example one made with openssl rand -hex 32. Keep a copy.
  5. Click Connect.

Each form has its own webhooks, so repeat this for every form you want to hear about. See Tally’s webhook docs.

Step 3: Signing Secret

Paste the secret from Step 2 into the Signing Secret field on your Hookfire integration page. Tally signs each delivery with the Tally-Signature header, and Hookfire refuses anything that does not match.

Step 4: Subscribe to Events

On your Hookfire integration page, toggle on Form submitted. The notification names the form, and tapping it opens a preview of the submission.

On the Max plan you can rewrite the wording to show a particular answer, such as {{data.fields.1.value}}. Hidden fields come first in the list, so check the order against a test submission.

Step 5: Test

Submit your own form once, or click Test next to the event on your Hookfire integration page. Tally keeps a log of every delivery under the clock icon on the webhook.
