How to connect Upvoted

Connecting Upvoted to Hookfire

Step 1: Create an Integration

Go to your organization’s Integrations page.
Click Add Integration and select Upvoted.
You’ll receive a unique Webhook URL. Copy it.

Step 2: Add the Webhook in Upvoted

Log in to your Upvoted dashboard.
Open the board you want to receive notifications for.
Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Custom Webhooks.
Click Add webhook.
Paste your Hookfire webhook URL into the Endpoint URL field.
Select the events you want to subscribe to:
- feature.created
- comment.created
- feature.status_changed
Click Save.

Step 3: Copy the Signing Secret

After saving, Upvoted will generate a Signing Secret for the endpoint.
Reveal it and copy the value.
Go back to your Hookfire integration page and paste it into the Signing Secret field.
Upvoted signs every payload with HMAC-SHA256. Hookfire verifies each delivery automatically using the Upvoted-Signature header.

Step 4: Subscribe to Events

On your Hookfire integration page, toggle on the events you want to receive push notifications for. You can choose between:

Push + Record: sends a push notification and stores the event.
Record only: stores the event without sending a push.

Step 5: Test

Click the Test button on your integration page to send a simulated Upvoted event through the pipeline. You can also trigger a real webhook.ping by clicking Send test directly from the Upvoted webhook settings screen.
