How to connect Zendesk

Connecting Zendesk to Hookfire

Step 1: Create an Integration

  1. Go to your organization’s Integrations page.
  2. Click Add Integration and select Zendesk.
  3. You’ll receive a unique Webhook URL — copy it.

Step 2: Create a Webhook in Zendesk

  1. Log in to your Zendesk Admin Center.
  2. Navigate to Apps and integrations → Webhooks.
  3. Click Create webhookEvent subscription.
  4. Give it a name (e.g., “Hookfire Notifications”).
  5. Paste your Hookfire webhook URL into the Endpoint URL field.
  6. Select the event subscriptions you want (e.g., Ticket events).
  7. Click Create webhook.

Step 3: Copy the Signing Secret

  1. After creating the webhook, click Show Secret to reveal the signing key.
  2. Copy this secret.
  3. Go back to your Hookfire integration page and paste it into the Signing Secret field.
  4. Zendesk signs payloads with HMAC-SHA256 — Hookfire will verify each delivery automatically.

Step 4: Subscribe to Events

On your Hookfire integration page, toggle on the events you want to receive push notifications for.

Step 5: Test

Click the Test button on your integration page, or create a test ticket in Zendesk to trigger a real event.
